Code of Conduct for Members
- The member should study the objectives and purposes of SCAI and agree to contribute towards its implementation
- The member should promote the high standing and the image of Indian coffee
- The member should uphold as well as achieve the highest possible standards in handling coffee from the plantation till it reaches the customer
- The member shall pay the annual fee as set by SCAI regularly. Any default on this account will entail the membership being cancelled automatically without any advice
- The members shall allow the representatives of the Membership & Technical committee of SCAI or its authorized representatives to visit his/her/their plantation and facilities for the purpose of inspection, drawing samples or any other purposes as required by SCAI
- The member shall not conduct business with an organization whose conduct is questionable. If any such instances come to the knowledge of SCAI, the membership of such a member shall be terminated without any advice
- Every member should protect the other members from any fraudulent conduct of a purchaser or supplier of coffee to any member by informing the secretariat of SCAI so that such matter is scrutinized by the Membership & Technical committee and appropriate action is taken
- SCAI will cancel the membership if a member is found to have acted unethically and defrauded a co-member of SCAI or even a non-member with intent
- In all cases of cancellation of membership, the decision of the Membership & Technical committee is final. However, such a member can be reinstated by the core committee or its successors if it is satisfied with the written explanation
- No member shall use the logo of SCAI in any stationery or in any form or media till a separate regulation is formed for the usage of the logo
- The member shall agree to fulfil the standards that will be set by SCAI as and when necessary, in order to promote Indian Specialty Coffee
- The member shall give a declaration as given with the registration form
